Who the hell is Carsten Baldes?

    http://www.emedals.com/auctions/the-...kuhl-7-art-rgt

"Accompanied by an expert evaluation and guarantee of Carsten Baldes."

    Who?

I don't recall hearing his name in any discussion we've ever had about coloured piped SS visors on this forum or any other forum.

          I'm with jayjay.
Baldes bought some years ago the webshop of Detlev Niemann.

                Hallo Ben

On the inside there are no doubts. But I think that for a current bid of $ 6.200 eMedals must show the inner front capboard and the documentation linking the visor to Ostubaf Kühl. From the available images it is not possible in my humble opinion to say for sure whether it's by chance a rebanded Heer visor ... If it were, however, an enough well done job ...

Ziegler of Giengen is a confirmed maker and the lining is period. From what I see peak & sb perforation holes are credible and there are no signs of extra-holes. Obviously, as for the capboard, it would be useful to see the images of the stitching of the lining (with raised sb) but unfortunately they are not available. I hope that, as a result of this thread, eMedals will add them to the description.

Only thing I cannot understand are the two holes on the front lining I see on second shot n. 2. Maybe the prongs of a previous eagle through the lining

In this case, even if not an ultimate evidence, what about the actual eagle & tk? I'm not expert at all about ...

An obscure maker, a very limited time frame officially for these caps, a velvet band and a very none typical Officers interior.

                        I don't think so.

Good points Ben. It is true that Ziegler is more known for its civilian output and this is maybe the first military visor allegedly coming from that company I see.

Apart from the points already before highlighted, I am concerned about the external band because I see it spilling over on both the top and the lower sides and thus forming some bulges on the side panels of the crown.

                            nco/em lining

in my opinion an upgraded nco/em visor to officer, whether real or not

Ziegler is still in business to this day.
                              They were/are a supplier for fire-fighting equipment.

Makes no sense that they would be selling SS visors
