    Marine ZOLL visor ... ???

I'm back with yet another marine visor I would like a opinion on ...

What can I say, looks good, "old" no markings other than the maker.
The cap is not of the best quality but has a nice shape.
The sweatband is made of cheap card-box like material.
Chinstrap is missing, chinstrap buttons are of the "marine" type.

    Any comments ?

    Marc

        Hallo Marc

It reminds me of this (post 4). Is it by chance the same visor?

Anyway first Billenstein I see (apart a post-war studentenmütze with the same logo and it also without the sweatshield) : Konrad Billenstein is a confirmed mützenfabrikation, mützenmachermeister, Bergmeistergasse 3, loading and workshop in Oswaldspitalgasse 24, as for the 1937 Würzburger Wohnungsbuch:

No sign of Konrad in 1947:

Whereas he is back in the mützenfabrikation and studentenutensilien business, Karmelitenstrasse 20 and house in Oberer Steinbachweg, in 1949:

I’m not a Navy or Customs collector but I'm inclined to say an early BRD rebadged (with gilt eagle and wreath as prescribed for the 1938 pattern) summer Wasserschützpolizei/Wasserzoll/ Küstenwache visor.

I say this because, from my point of view, the logo has a typical post-war style. Of course just my opinion.

        Best regards

Yes, It is the same cap. The visor is whiteout a chinstrap. For the picture in the book a loose chinstrap was added but was not original to the cap; it was removed afterwards.

            Marc, I concur with Marcello.

Are there extra (empty) holes in the pasteboard?

No extra holes but I agree, not really a cap I ever trusted to be period.
              Thank you guy's,
More will be posted soon :-)
Until now there is a 10% rubbish in the collection, not so bad I would say.
