DAK cap

a friend just got this cap with a group of us navy items , I don't know to much about cloth headgear or DAK items so any help with it would be great, to me it looks kinda new and the vents don't look like the ones ive seen before.

So the army caps are worth more then the navy ? I was thinking the navy would be more because I would think they made less, what would this one be worth ? And thank you for the information on the cap..

Nice original KM cap not DAK. KM caps like this sell for around $500- $700us. Some will say as much as $900us but that does not reflect its actual value. Fairly common piece even with the original KM insignia. A late model non/soutached Herr tropical cap sell for $1200us and up to over $10,000us if its an early Herr model with a soutache.

Faded KM tropical M42's showing real use but still in good condition, are hard to find. They sell for more than an unissued KM tropical M42 cap.

WH tropical caps always sell for more due to the fact that less people collect KM. However, the KM tropical M42 was worn in Afrika at places like Tobruk and all over Italy/ Mediterranean including U-Boat & E-Boat . Veteran brought back examples of all of these exist.

If you can buy one for $500 to $700 then that is a very good price,

Some WH soutached tropical M40's sell for even more such as 1940 Panzer for US$12,000 and early Jager green soutached officer for US$15,000. Very hard, desirable examples to find at the best of times,
