Honestly I don't think this is the case...I've accurately checked the cap and I didn't find any red flags... but I think that's for this that the forums exist...more eyes, more opinions and if I didn't see somethings important (of course I don't know everythings) I had an help from the estimated forum members and I learn somethings more......

Honestly I have re-checked mm by mm ( I don't want to risk on such items) along the entire inside perimeter of the cap without finding any evidences of a post-war band reattachment.
From what I'm able to see the rear half of cap is firmly stitched while the frontal part (the visor) is done with large stitches that keep together the band and the visor.
For sure there aren't any extra or blank holes in the visor
As you have pointed there are some very small and thin reinforcement stitches but if you look at the wear I think they are very old........
Last but not least is the overall look and the band is nicely pressed by the use/wear and the whole band settle very well
