Hello,

This cap has been offered for sale. Any ideas - original WW2 or post war? A wellknown collector from the USA noticed ...deswehr and the first part of the word is cratched out. The full word could be "bundeswehr". In this case this is an early post war cap...

The Bundeswehr was established in 1955 but I'd date this cap to much later.

I have never seen such serial numbers printed on the sweatband’s inner of a TR visor. They have nothing to do with the alphabetic or numeric codes coming from the true period sweatbands’ makers.
