      Just to be precise and objective: here no one doubts that the sweatband is from Borchert (I apologize if I emphasize that I have attached the 1943 Berlin Adressbuch's reference) and that the body is a nice cavalry visor by August Muller; however, the two things do not fit together; the sweatband and the peak are not coeval to the visor and were sewn (or fixed in any other way) in a very rough manner. I hope that you do not want to deny that the peculiarity of this visor lies mainly in the fact of having the peak of an alter-art and not in the rest. If we refer to the aesthetic aspect, I must say that I really like it, but this is a different nature judgment that is based on personal taste assumptions and not on technical issues.

        I find it very interesting that this cap is receiving such positive feedback despite the fact that IMO, the visor and sweatband probably don't belong to this cap originally.

        In other words, what is the point of myself or others pointing out these defects?

        It seems to be to a deal breaker in some cases yet doesn't matter a bit in others!?

            Maybe but I think it's important for us to not set unrealistic expectations, especially considering how slow the market is at the moment.

            We can all say fantastic cap and lovely cap but that means very little.
            It might not be so fantastic when it comes time to sell it.

              I agree with you. Indeed, aside from the momentary aesthetic yellow-gold love affairs, the crude coupling of the body with a peak and a sweatband that do not belong each other and do not fit together, strongly affects the starting monetary value of this visor.

                  I agree re: resale value, something that one should likely always consider when purchasing a collectable.
                  On the outside, a handsome cap, on the inside, not so much. It could be a tough sell, especially now.

                    You are right and its good to point out such defects. I liked the cap when the thread started but now not longer....
                    Even it looks nice, I would all the time think about the defect when I would see it sitting on my shelf.
