    Hallo Lukasz

In my opinion, nothing wrong on this crusher and also about the wasserdicht lining and the rustic sweatband. We could discuss at length whether the boiled wool is compatible with that type of lining or about the eagle's stitching, which both seem goods to me, but I do not think that these are significant aspects and probably there would not be a definitive answer. Surely it would be useful to see some images with the raised sweatband, to check the capboard's construction, because not visible from the original Weitze's photos.

As for the skull, if on the sweatband's inside there is not an acceptance stamp of the 17th (as likely), then we are, as usual, in the uncertainty and the only empirical evidence is the conservation status of the underlying tissue, unless this crusher, given its peculiarity and attractiveness as well as the many hands that probably have already handled it, has already been the subject of some previous discussion that now lies forgotten in the deep web.

    Best regards

I didn't pick up the entire sweatband, because is made from material, which can be easily crush, and I don't wanna leave scars, that's whay i didn't check under the sweatband if are there any stamps.

Only way to be absolutely sure a hat is from IR17 is if it has a Braunschweig distributor mark, or a regimental stamping on the sweatband.

BTW, is the hat piped in white, or yellow?
