          Many thanks Billbert,
it comes from a reliable source in the USA,that i've bought some very good items from before.....though i thought the insignia and cap look more like a put together from a film ...so you think its a good gebirgsjager cap made for an officer during the Greek occupation?,,well that would be something different

          Cheers

Cheers Nick,Yes it's amazing,i thought it was a fake but the tarnish to the insignia showed that it had been on the cap for a long time so it was worth putting up here to gauge folks opinions

I don't think there's anyway to determine if the owner is German or Austrian. Several mountain units were involved in the initial campaign or the occupation. Many of those units had a mixture of troops from both countries.

I don't ever recall seeing a uniform item that could be tied to Greece. Way cool. Jim

                              Hi Jim,
Well i just looked at old threads on the forum and there was a dark green backed edelweiss on a M43 cap that came from an Austrian....The bullion cap eagle is dark green backed so i just wondered

So something different then from what we normally see with tropical m43 caps, glad you like it

                              Cheers
