A couple close ups of the front. Does the chin cord look East German?

Chin cord button and slider. The button is not East German but the cord?

Interior front where the wreath is attached (left) and on the side where the chin cord button is attached (right).

                    BenVK & erikjo,

Thanks for your questions. I'm pretty sure the chin cord is East German and I think the buttons might be West German, that's not really a big concern.

I was mainly wondering about the exterior material. It has a fuzzier nap and softer feel than most doeskin I'm familiar with. Does it look period? Any other red flags that you can see?

It's not doeskin, I would suggest that it's eskimo fabric.

I'm on the fence about this cap, I think it's a 1950/60s cap but I'm not sure.
Personally, I wouldn't bother taking the risk.
Genuine Infantry visors aren't exactly scarce!

Cap cockade and eagle are replaced.
