yeah, I've gotten quite a few pieces of SS headgear out of the woodwork with insignia such as this.

It is a private purchase cap. Quite all features are uncommon but at least I see a folding on lining.
I do not judge this cap. Too much out rules to be judged by pics.of course it has a nice patinaand uausing but also fresh insignia, strange and very weak lining similar to the net of some schirmuetze but heavier, rounded edges (if it was a textbook cap this feature was enough to dismiss it) ultra basic button holes likes the soldier made it self, or a very crude produxtion anyway... Why do you buy so frequently pprivatepurchase and not textbook sSS items?

The cap is not a fake imo...

But i dont think its military issue though...more like a civilian cap with added ss insignia.

The cut and some details are strange for an m43 cap.

It could be, but to many items are autenticated whit the "private purchase" free card.

I have no comments about private purchase about this cap though...i have never seen one like that.

I criticize this cap and did not give any pass. I do not judge cause it is a private purchase.
In my collection which seen 20 SS tunics +30 SS headgears I had only a field made tarnmuetze and a m38 officer heer side xap with heavy SS shadows. So Ido not search private purchase and iI asked him why he search so frequently.

I've sold some years ago as the tarnmuetze. Both now are in well known waf members collections.
