Acquired almost 50 years ago, perhaps my first M43, from an ad by an English dealer at the time.

Have kept it for sentimental reasons........

Nice. To me it appears to be Italian airforce wool used and Italian lining material...
all confiscated of course post September 1943 armistice, for German industry use.

Is the LW trap sewn through the lining ?

To my eye it looks to be a fake or some Italian made version I have never seen before ???

However my feeling for the trap is not good,

My feeling Lenny is that this is a post-war fake LW trap that has been added to original LW M43's stripped of insignia by German POW's. A UK dealer got the caps at a very cheap price and added the fake traps by machine sewing them on through the liner,
