    M43 italian wool Heer

    Dear Gents,
I would like to hear you opinions about this M43 cap made of italian wool and with italian style insignia. I have some doubts but I like it. Any comment would be appreciated.

    Thank you very much!

Original and a desirable with possibly original insignia restored.

                  Looks like "Berven Padova" maker

                    The insignia is indeed interesting,

this is the first time I have seen the correct eagle and cockade for this maker hand applied. All the other examples I have handled or seen by this maker have had machine sewn badges. Is this type of Italian made M43 "Berven Padova" or not ?

However the badges are 101% correct for the cap and maker. These particular Italian embroidered badges are basically impossible to find on their own separate from a cap. This is also the first time that I have seen the cockade with a diamond wool backing to it. All the others I have seen have been trimmed to a circle and machine sewn on as a circle.

Thus I wonder if the badges are factory applied by hand at the Italian factory. I have other examples of M43 caps made by different Italian cap makers from this one and they have hand applied badges.

                    Great example to study up,

                    Chris
