HG Visor for Review & Comment

I have received various pms asking me about this HG visor that was on Ebay in the wake of a posting of the underside of a visor from this hat.

I am interested in what others have to say about it:

I don't see any glaring issues.

However, I did notice that the perforations in the forehead area of the sweatband are a bit off center.

Also, for HG, shouldn't the mohair cap band be black? This appears to be navy blue from the photos.

Btw, that looks like a WH enlisted chinstrap.

I don't care for the underside of the peak, and the poor quality of the wool, but that may be a wartime issue.
IF it's good, hell of a price, but I have my doubts.

Mid-late war quality cap .Hard to see if it's a rebuild one or not with these pictures ...
The mohair is black IMO , the pictures only made it dark blue .
A hand inspection is welcome !

My gut feeling is that the piping may have been replaced.

If not and it is authentic, it's horrible! the fabric and workmanship is horrendous. I wouldn't want it. Yuk!

Some thing about it just don't feel right in my gut.

The wear in the sweatband looks strange, like it has been handled in an unnatural way, not normal day to day wear, confirming the suggesting that it has been worked on. J

It has a peculiar, substandard appearance...maybe inferior or ersatz materials? Almost across the board, Germans maintained high standards of workmanship.

I agree with the above--the ripping to the band is also flatter than normally seen.
I think she has had a little work done on her (as they say in LA)
