          I am really surprised that no one has commented about the very rare version of "core-spun" that the piping is made from on this superb 101% original visor hat.

          I would be interested to learn how how often other members have seen that type of "core-spun" piping on a visor hat, what it is made from and what period it was used i.e. pre-war, early war, late war ?

            Amazing,

            2 x "TSD" visor hats in less than one week on WAF and both with very rare "core spun" piping;

            well at least some of my questions are answered on the linked thread about the TSD being a 1944 branch of service and the visor being liberated in 1945.

            Thus 'core spun" piping like this could only be late war i.e. later 1943 to 1945 ?
