I purchased this in a flea market in Germany when stationed at Fulda in 1984-87. The price was right, about 15DM at the time. It appears to be original ww2 Heer bevo cap eagle in silver thread and standard woven cockade. The cap is unmarked. I would like to sell on the e-stand, but did not want to mis-represent the item. It almost looks like a 50's or 60s cap from the German customs or polizei. I cannot find a matching example in the WAF.,

74 views, no comments, so I will assume this is not anything worth posting on the WAF. It seems the only good things on the hat are the insignia.

Nick,
Thanks for the comments. Do you mean Belgian war-time made? I did not know there was such a distinction in the cap insignia. You are saying so based on the weave and style?
As for the cap does it appear original to you? I was thinking it was post-war. I had not seen such material before, but I am relatively new to TR collecting. The color is definately a lighter shade of green and s bit blueish to add.
I used to go to the Flea Market in the 80s and picked it up there. I assumed due to the price someone had sewn the eagles on after the war, but who knows.

I just looked at a few images of the Belgian made bevo style insignia and I see what you mean. But these are Heer insignia and it should have the polizie eagle with wreath.
