          Nothing wrong with that, 101%

I am just trying to decide if it is officer quality "doeskin" which has seen a lot of fade/ use or "boiled wool". Both materials were used in the making of officer M38 sidecaps.

The writing on the sweat fore-band is very interesting. Can you read what it says ? Is it a makers name ?

Did it turn up as a sleeper in Aussie ? If so, every chance it might have come back from Afrika. I have a similar transport example that did,

            Thanks Chris

I was told it was a local pick up and ex Africa.

            Cheers

Hard to read imprint on leather but 'Deutche' and then something I can't make out.

              I reckon boiled wool

That would agree with what I have seen and handled

Here is a quick photo of my officer M38's. The transport officer from Afrika is on the viewer's far left,

OK interesting, it might be "German worker made" or something like that

Looks like "boiled wool" on my monitor. My transport is "doeskin" but I have several made from different materials as you can see in the image,

These are a real favorite of mine,
