      Perhaps it's my monitor, but the piping doesn't look very pink to me.
      The cap seems authentic; dyed infantry visor?

                    The visor is NOT a Janke, and it doesn't exhibit the typical "Alteste" characteristics; that said, I am not suggesting it is an original. BUT, elimination of the two biggest reproduction 'threats' is a positive start!

                    I suggest you elicit opinions from "Stonement" &/or "ErichK" before 'pulling the trigger' on this hat; good luck & good hunting!

                              Looks OK to me - probably late 1944 or early 1945 - the quality ain't there (check out the stitch lines), but I think it is legit.
