In post #15, it looks like the lining may have been opened but the photo is out of focus so I can't be sure.

Insigna and their application are fine for these type of Officer M40 sidecaps.

I would like to see a picture of this sidecap from above. I am not convinced it is an original ss sidecap so far. I also have some problems with the look of the cloth as well as the shape seen from the side.
