What is it based off of?

It is perhaps based on the Heer/Luftwaffe 'M40' tropical feldmutze with the false fold-down flaps and vent holes but obviously it's a very poor attempt.

There's clearly no point pursuing this but the 'M41' did not have the false flaps.
