what kind of a sidecap is here?

It looks like a french medical shoulder strap stripe used as a grade
on a german side cap .
Immediate postwar use by some auxiliaries troops ?

That was my first (immediate) impression as well!

I think it indeed could be Legion Condor. The middle stripe upon red is for a "Legionär" for the Flak (Anti-aircraft guns). The braid should be gold.

The grade stripe is a typical french medical Lieutenant one , gold on red velvet ...
I don't think The Legion Condor had grades on velvet ?
