Upgraded field cap

I was scanning some pictures for the website and thought this was quite interesting to post here. The NCO on the photo clearly upgraded his field cap with a bullion eagle. One can clearly see the trapezoid eagle underneath!

Nice pic, Giel. Looks like officer collar tabs, in which case the bullion eagle and the officer tabs would mean he is a Fahnrich. I have never seen a Fahnrich with a m43. J

Both the eagle and collar tabs looked temporarily pinned on? May be in the process of becoming or just qualied as a Fahnrich ? Really interesting portrait. J
