    Opinions on Heer Chaplain's Visor

    Good morning gentlemen,

I have been offered this visor and would like to run it by you for some opinions. I know this Farbe is heavily faked and am preparing myself for a letdown, however, I had this cap in-hand at the MAX in 2000 and at the time there was nothing about it that turned me off. I have learned a few things since then, but I still don't see anything about this cap that just jumps out and says "Run".

Sorry about the small pics, they're all I have for now.

    Your comments are appreciated.

    Regards!

    Bob

Bob, sorry to say that imo, this one is also part of a series of high-end fakes of Chappy caps made in the early 90s.

Not exactly what I was hoping to hear of course Chris, but do appreciate the comments nonetheless.

This is a much better effort than the first one posted. J

Unfortunately I would definitely steer clear of this one. The cross is a cast metal fake that seems to have made the rounds in Europe in the late 70's. Someone was making a lot and adding them to medical hats. Several large auction houses had that type of cross set up. Did setups like that exist in the III Reich, possibly, but they would be so insanely rare as to be unique.

If it has a metal cross, look for the 3d vaulted ones that were original to the period.

                        Sorry!
