    Question about E-Stand Infantry Visor

    Here's the link: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=803472

My question is this: This hat seems to have a contract lining, and past postings here have stated there is no such thing as an officer contract hat. Yet, I don't recall seeing EM caps of this style.

    What do we have here?

    Thanks,
    Steve

Given the quality of the cap, or lack therof, it could be a late war officer's cap, or, an upgraded enlisted cap.
Certainly, the interior looks like that of a contract cap.

Looks like a typical latewar production to me. J

        Hello Gentlemen,
In my opinion, this is just a custom tailored visor cap made late war. IMHO, issue contract visor caps still maintained the same look and style throughout the war, with materials sometimes of lesser quality.
        Thank you,
        Curtiss

          late

I would say it's a late war hat from the officers' Kleiderkasse. Is the piping "basket weave" cord?

            Late war for sure. Matt

Thank you everyone for responding. I was thinking it might be late war Officer Kleiderkasse, but I was unsure because earlier examples of those I see are marked Kleiderkasse in the sweatshield. Here, of course, there are no markings. Would lack of Kleiderkasse in the shield be a late war thing?
