I purchased this cap at an estate auction last month. There were a number of WW2 era military items at the auction. Some real, some fake. The estate was from an Army vet who served in Germany in the late 60's - early 70's. He did have a lot of good German items from WW2 and Postwar.
I got this cap for a few dollars. I do believe it's an old one. I don't know if it's military or not.
The cap is made in the bergmutze style with gray will brim and sides and a red cotton top. The interior is padded with a leather sweatband.
I'm thinking it might be for a civilian ski patrol or just a general ski cap.
Any ideas?
