Hi guys thanks for informations. I get from the same family another documents of this officer. The name of this officer is RÜBSAM inside the visor.....see photos...

Hello,

I was able to acquire this cap for my collection. It came with a lot more documents of the owner as well as with a photo album.
So I am able to put a face to the cap.

Alfred Ruebsam was born 10th March 1910
He joined the merchant navy in 1927
He got his helmsman license for overseas trips in 1930, was employed on ships of the "Hamburg-Amerika" line and made several trips to New York but also to Africa.

He joined the KM in 1937, became a NCO and a reserve officer in January 1942
The photo album ends with the in-service ceremony of a submarine in Gotenhafen....so some space for further research,
