    Estate Sale Finds...

For the most part, estate sales don’t bring as much as they used to.
However, this one was very decent.

First up is a HJ banner in very nice condition. I assume that the ties were torn off as the GI probably tore it off a pole.
All pieces are sewn together and then on to the material.
Double sided but it does not have a district number but I can’t complain.

Next is an Infantry officer’s visor with bullion insignia. The hat has one small hole on the top and another next to the swastika but other wise is in very good condition. No name but it does have two pins on the inside with AW on them. The liner has a tear but still decent.
There is an odd blue thread on the eagle but do not know if it was period done or later to hold it up.

The family just wanted to get rid of them so no history except it was grandad’s stuff from the war.
Kid’s-they never asked so we’ll never know.

Nice score. Th. Thol of Kiel is a rare maker--they made mostly KM visors, and this is the first WH I have seen by them.

The insignia has genuine silver content in it, and that it why it is tarnished.
The insignia also matches, which is a good sign.

Eagle may have been re-sewn by the vet, who knows.

            Nice pre-war lid.
