    WH M40 style side cap

Hi all...Just a question...did the WH ever use or manufacture M40 WSS style side caps???

I have only seen this style side cap in use by SS..kRIEGSMARINE...LUFTWAFFE winter & tropical but not by HEER...

Is it terribly wrong to put on a HEER manequin a M40 side cap with HEER eagle & cocade?

    thanks

The Heer did use the M40 style. Eagle, cockade, and waffenfarbe.

A friend of mine had one but took no pix before selling. It was a classic M40 style sidecap in gray wool with mouse gray Heer insig. You're right about period pix being hard to find and therefore validate.

The M40 boat form could have been used with Heer badges , but in that case ,it could be Navy Administration ...
I recently had one on hands , with a white eagle on dark green , like WH standards but it was an embroidered typical Navy bird , not a bevo one .
Cockade was bevo on dark green ,like the Heer ones .
