Coast Artillery cap buttons

Shouldn't any coast artillery visor cap have KM side buttons, and not plain black for enlisted, and silver pebbbled for officers?
Or, are "regular" side buttons considered authentic as well?
Your thoughts would be most appreciated.

Hello Robert, There are EM examples with plain black buttons, and officers visors with the KA gold buttons w/anchors, I have seen both but never the silver pebbled buttons. Maybe Eduardo, or Chris could elaborate a little more on this subject?
