Late M40 Tropical Cap - Tunisia US Vet Bring Back - Help Needed with Maker Mark

Thought I would show my late M40 cap. Came with a couple other items from a US Vet that served in Tunisia. It's got some sun bleaching and light rust-like stains on the top, but in real good shape overall.

I can make out the size "59" and the year "42" is all. Anybody recognize the maker mark? It's jammed so far back it's tough to make out.

    Thanks.

As soon as I saw the cap posted, I recognized the maker! Photography brought it out the details I couldn't see with my eyes!

Super cap Jeff, looks like it used to have a soutache.

Nice combo of a cap with a removed soutache, but with a sweatband & the date '42

                    Thanks for the comments Gents.

Ben - These photos of blue piping are for you and your keen eye. Was wondering if someone would notice the removed soutache.

A very nice untouched cap Jeff.

Just noticed the mixture of painted and unpainted grommets.
I love little details like that.

A neat cap that complied with the orders of the day. A friend of mine has a LAGO art'y cap that reflects the same.

For you again Ben, here's a close-up of the painted and unpainted grommets from one side.
