Worn Heer M43 cap

Hi guys,

I'd like some opinions on this Heer M43 cap I bought yesterday.
I wanted a worn/salty M43 for years and now I had the opportunity to buy this one.

It is in very worn condition and has some holes.
The cap has been reinforced with two 'Gefreiter' rank-chevrons.
Is the eagle original applied?

Cap and Trapezoid original. Scrap inside might be used as stifning fabric, but probably postwar made. Does the withe machine sewing goes through the lining?

Hello Buckliger,

The white machine stitching is only on one chevron. There are actually three chevrons used.
The chevrons are attached with a few threads, also trough the front of the cap.

hard to say from these pictures. ILike the cap, but can t say more about the trapezoids sewing without a real inspection...

Cap looks good to me, unusual to see that chevron piece added to the inside, behind the trap, but anything is possible when it comes to " field applied".

Looks good to me..I would say the insignia is the original factory sewing.


Chevrons most likely added by the wearer as a front stiffener.(like you would see in a Bergmutze)
