Rare 1940 dated KM Pith Helmet

1940 dated tropical items are rare and very desirable. Not often one sees KM tropical items dated 1941 let alone 1940. Yet on ebay a KM Pith helmet dated 1940 has just sold for US $89.

It is not in the best of condition but one does not see many with that date and KM Piths are the one of the rarest to try and find,

Really pretty nice early sunhelmet except for the damage to the brim edge. A 1940 dated KM or any tropenhelm dated 1940 are especially desirable imo. Good price for it too. Here is a thread that has a few Herr & LW Clemens Wagner piths, some not dated which may imply that they were made in 1940 also ?

The green colored underside and interior of the dome. Herr & LW have a tan underside & are red inside the dome.
