    Janke quality gone down?

    Has the quality of Jankes caps gone down? I read this somewhere on the forum here that older Janke caps are better. Is this true?

    Originally Janke used wartime or early post-war visors and celluloid sweat shields - as the supply ran out, they had to use plastic for both. The early Jankes were much nicer, but IMHO never as good as the Allteste fakes.

        Well after getting a Janke for myself and talking to Bill Bureau, he told me that is not true. I mentioned the "Allteste fakes" and he says he has never heard of those.

            There was a cap exactly like this one for sale at the SOS for a number of years; I did not see it last year.
            If I recall, the asking price was $ 1,200.
