Thank god!

Seeing this outstanding visor I believe, at last, I need no longer fear that a certain German national will skulk across the pond under an assumed identity, find my office and make off with my Government Official’s cap which he’s been trying to wrangle out of me for years. I can now sleep easy presuming my cap is, at last, safe.

I woodn't bee so shurr of zat! Zis Staatsbeamten Schirmmütze ov yourrs neets to be repätriatet to ze Fatherland... wie don't dement much, djust wat is rrightfully ours and was täken ävay!

Now you know I can't speak/read German but it sounds (even to a dunderhead like myself) that there's still a chance your going to "repätriatet" my poor grey. No need to repatriate - in defected. It enjoys New Hampshire. Here it can still smell cigar smoke just like in the good-old war years & I'll bet you don't even smoke. It would be culture shock.
