Pharbor:
I appreciate you putting this hat up for comment prior to sale.
In any event, the first issue is the fact that the name tag in the slot is to an RKT (and WW1 U-Boat ace) Otto v. Schrader. At the same time, the hat is stamped in 3 places with the name of another individual, a "Heinrich Güth", of Gütersloh.
The second issue I see is the chinstrap, which is not standard KM.
Third, the circumference of the crown is small for a KM visor.
The velvet Pekuro stirndruckfrei does not lay tight as you see on untouched models. There is also a slight gap visible between the visor and the velvet.
Unfortunately, one of the easiest things to do with KM visors is to take a Handelsmarine visor (wartime or BRD) and perform a bill transplant, removing the plain leather one and replacing it with a Bundesmarine Admiral visor (or even a repro).
I would like to see more under the hood shots so we can see the lining and pasteboard in its entirety.NEC SOLI CEDIT

Basicly agree with stonemint, from pictures I like some of the parts, as the visor, but it has some problems, as the top, the chinstrap and the mohair band.
Christian great investigation about the "owner" name stampedCollector of Kriegsmarine and Küstenartillerie items

Thanks for the input. I'm disposing of a collection that belonged to a good friend of mine. He collected primarily KM items. My area of knowledge is in German and Japanese firearms. Doesn't take long to see that one better be well versed in this field of collecting..... Here are a few additional pictures.
