    For your consideration I picked this up at an estate. Missing the alum eagle per german law in the 70's when this guy was stationed.

                      A rare beauty;
                      IMO it is for a Recruiting NCO;
                      Their waffenfarbe was orange until 1939 when it
                      switched to white & straps had a stylized "W" cypher
                      with Wehrkreis number.
                      Regardless, a scarce piece of headgear.
