Finally found a pic. This guy went with the metal EM/NCO insignia (and maybe he is an NCO, I just do not know Austrian Luftstreitkrafte ranks):

Yes, most probably he is an NCO. Notice the austrian chin cord still present on the cap. I guess he chose to stay with it instead of german black leather one

These 2 Austrian Air Force hats were attributed to a LW pilot who was shot down during the Battle of Britain.
(As I do not collect Austrian, I won't comment on their originality).
Both have Maria Slama labels in them.
The blue--top sold on Ebay for EUR 312,80
