It's a modern, postwar Bundeswehr enlisted cap, minus the cap badge. Note the date of 1974, when it was made.
These caps are very common, and cheap, both in construction and price.

It's certainly a loooooonngggg way from the quality, stylish headgear of the Imperial & TR eras, to these cheaply made examples.
Then again, methinks there has long been a reason for that.

Also ; a quick instant indicator that this cap is modern German is the FSN (Federal Stock Number ), used at the time jointly by both US & West German forces. It was used from 1957 to 1974. The 1st 4 digits,- 8405- is for the Federal Supply Classification Group "Clothing".
