Dak luftwaffe officers side cap with italian star

Hi guys, the seller told me his wifes father brought it back from north African campaign of ww2 , I can see where the eagle and cockade once sat , there is an Italian star fixed to it with markings on rear of it which I believe means it was an officers star, hope you like it rgds Dave
