Just got my cap. In mint condition. I haven't really focused on these in my collection before now.

It has been stored away since the war and has never been I a collection before (I was told!).

Could you tell why it is fake? I am a beginning collector (''started'' a few days ago ), so I'd like to know what I should focus on in case I want to buy a cap .

I will try, ok? I thought it was fake too for these reasons, maybe completely wrong, but maybe the good reasons:

- It says ''Quality Hat/Cap'' (Qualitätsmutse). Why would they put something like that on a mass-produced military-issued cap? You would assume everything is of great quality. It doesn't make sense.

- Also, the cap has 2 of those silver rings. That's also weird/unusual in my opinion.

It's all wrong. Construction, materials, eagle, markings etc.

I thing this is a post war cap and somebody sewn front patch and add 1944 stamp only.

Naah, its one of the reenactor caps, dont remember which company that makes them for reeanctors though.
