Pre 1938 Zoll Mountain Cap Need Help To ID Eagle

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I was intrigued by this hat when pictures were posted several weeks ago.

What got me was the fact I've never seen one before or even knew it existed.

If it has been incorrectly ID'd let me know.

I've lost a 5,000 book library a couple of years ago so I relied on the internet for an ID.

Any photographs of this hat in wear ?

Any idea what kind of eagle was above the rosette ?

These pictures give you an inside and outside look at where I assume an eagle used to be.

You can see several stains from brass prongs on the inside of the hat.

How about an early SA/SS hat eagle ?

It has an upper and lower prong that fits with the existing holes.

Any idea on the buttons ?

Anybody out there ?

I know this is a piece of junk but I like it.

Any opinions are welcome.

I was directed to another site where an early Zoll visor was posted.

It has a silver eagle similar to a short wing political eagle.

But the poster admits to changing the eagle.

Can I post a picture of it or a link ?
