    Luftwaffe Winter Cap for Review

Good afternoon guys. I have never had one of these so I'd appreciate a review just to be sure it's good. Thanks in advance for checking it out.

I recently purchased this hat; the hat's construction and overall appearance appears original to me.

Does ANYONE see any red flags or issues with this hat?

It differs from the styles/versions most commonly seen (lasks sewn trim around ear-hole snapped covers on ear flaps, and size stamped on exterior ear flaps instead of on a tag sewn in the interior); I'll post pics of such if neeeded/ interest in seeing such.

These qualities, coupled with the handsewn insignia, make me think it is a late-war constructed hat, but an original one IMO.

Thoughts/ comments, especially from the WAF "Gurus", respectfully sought ASAP; thanks!

          Nice original one !
Eagle+cockade eventually reapplied but why not handsewn ?

Here's mine for comparison but, like everything, variations are the norm depending on when and where they were produced. Mine has the size tag in the front upper area. It has an RB# on one side and the size on the other. The tag really gets lost in the fur so stamping the size on the earflap seems like a logical German solution to the problem.

Your example looks fine. As mentioned, the insignia may be reapplied.
