One thing I can say for sure; it was made from italian wool. Overall it looks ok.

              Hello,

nice original cap, but for sure not italian wool ! It was made from regular later war german wool.

Late war? I don't think it was that late to have seen that much wear. Nice cap!

The "wear" seems contrived to me.

Good point and a hands on look is always best. The color variation was something that bothered me.... rather excessive. However, I have seen it before on other caps just not to this extent.

It has become threadbare and discolored in the right areas. The threadbare areas reveal the core weave of the fabric which may be misleading as to the kind of fabric used. It looks like a nice original to me and not made from the cheezy brown amalgamated material of the late years.

Original cap, but long bill, no vents, no partial or full sweatband, and probably no stiffener in the front - it's built like an M43 but sports GJ "T" insignia. Definitely not a GJ type cap, with the exception of the insignia.

                              It's an original cap though.
