Heer Tropical M40 Cap

hi,
I would like to have some opinions about this tropical cap.
it doesn't have the sweat band and the Double seams under the visor.
The rbnr is difficult to read, it finish by 415

Sorry to say that I hadn't even gone through half of the 1st photograph and could see that it is a fake.
I will add that the grommets aren't period, the lining material isn't what I would expect to see and the general appearance of the cap gives away the fact that it just isn't a period piece.
That being said, I like the insignia.

Not everything, fake cap, bad grommets etc, but with original insignia, so worth that much at least...

Is the trop. cockade a first or second model ???

Either way it a sought after type and if it is a first model then it would probably fetch a good price in its own right,

That's right, everything isn't wrong with this piece; the insignia are original.
Yes Chris, the cockade is a desirable 1st pattern.

Correct about the insignia being ok guys, hard to come by and could fetch some decent dollars on its own as Chris has stated.
Good for the insignia collector of DAK or perhaps a restoration job on a cap that needs some attention.
What's a fair price do you think that cockade could bring?
