this hat is an NCO / enlisted upgrade. In other words, somebody added the officer's chin cord, most likely post war. Also, it might be just me, but that sweatband looks to have been replaced. I would wait for a better example to buy.

I don't see any issues with the sweatband, but oldpainless is correct about the addition of the chincord. This is a contract cap that was originally manufactured for issue to enlisted men and NCOs. They are regularly "promoted" post war to add value on the collector market. Unless the cap is quite cheap, I suggest you pass as well. True officer infantry caps can be found rather easily.

The sweatband is original to the hat , upgraded to off,but when?probably postwar for increase price

Not a fan ... IMO a poorly reassembled visor!

Hat is a good one, although as Dan points out, is somewhat sloppy in execution--typical of Lago/contract caps.

As far as the chincords, those probably are post-war applied.
