Combat worn unique, Heer M34 signals cap

I got this cap from a lot that a veteran brought back . The cap had a name tag sewn in at one point and is a size 57 it seems. But the cap is sewn tigter at the top so it won't fully open! I would assume because the cap may have been a little too big for the Soldat. It has plenty of sweat stains and wear. The soldier who brought it home fought in Europe from D-day 1944 till the end in 1945 and maybe earlier in Africa or Italy !
It's a gorgeous worn cap ! Love it!
