Not many visors being posted lateley, so I thought I would share my first visor purchase of 2014. Not a rare waffenfarbe by any means, but it is a quite mint early Erel Privat distributed by Georg Kurz of Braunschweig. The cap alone is great - the the high quality doeskin, copious padding in the lining, and unmistakable Erel shape are exactly as you would expect on a Privat from this era.
I acquired this cap directly from the original owner's family and was fortunate when they offered to also include his brocade belt, medal bar, lapel pin, two photographs (one of this cap in wear), and the original visor eagle.
I am currently working with the family to learn more about this man and his role in the Heeresverwaltung.
