Black panzer M35 overseas cap for opinions

    Hello everybody,

Since some weeks, I am searching for a black panzer cap to match my black panzer wrapper to build a display.
Here is a M35 overseas cap that I found on the net.
It looks good to me except the grommets which look a bit odd.
The seller stated that the piping is not original to the cap but has been reworked some time.
What are your opinion about this cap?
Thanks a lot for your help.

    Simon

    Sorry for the gigantic pictures.
Imageshack service has changed and I could not find my previous settings back !

The images are too large and blurry to be able to say much.

But based on what I can see which is this case is not too little, it has a chance of being right. The grommets look to be the pre-zink, magnetic type used from 1934 to 1938. Not often seen on a black panzer sidecap but sometimes they were used as old stock was used up. Better images are needed to confirm this.

I think the dated is "1940" Can you confirm ?,

            Thanks Chris for your message.

Yes the date is 1940. Do you think that it is still coherent with grommet type?

The seller stated the soutache is not original to the cap.

I succeeded to post smaller pictures. Is it better or you need a specific new picture?

I must admit I like the cap. But the maker "Landesliefergenossenschaft Hessen" is very seldom. I have only one example in my archiv. The question ist why that maker has a Munich depot stamp (bavaria) - and not, what I would expect a F for Frankfurt (hessen)

I did not pay attention to the maker mark.
Great that you build yourself a databank.
Maybe other can comment on that point?
                  Thanks in advance.

Bargain price for a Panzer M43.

You had better hope for your sake that it is original...But I don't know M-43 hats that well.

Not such a bargain price though if all that is original is the insignia (which it is)

original insignia for sure i must be the only one who doesn't like the cap
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.
