The cap appears to be original (with pre '38 eagle, cockade and grommits) but the soutache is replaced (imo). It would be for Jaeger if originally applied (or possibly replaced wartime).

Soutache looks like dark green, admin to me and not period applied. J. Ps I have never seen a GJ sidecap with edelweiss. Have seen normal jaeger. Was the edelweiss put on a sidecap?

Thanks so far for the comments, guys! Unfortunately I'm really no expert on uniforms and equipment.

The soutache indeed is dark-green and hand-added and the whole cap came directly out of a cupboard of the grandmother of a friend.

            Kind regards, Peter

I like only the insignia, but very bad applied.
Don't like the soutache and don't like the stamps.

Doesn't do much for me, a few issues.
Any pics of the eyelets from the inside?
                cheers

                  Hi "nco"!

As requested: picture of an eyelet and close-up of the stamps.

                  Kind regards, Peter

It appears to be an original example. The soutache is non standard. Impossible to determin when it was applied.
