Do You Cant Your Display Visor or Field Cap to the Left, Right or Straight Up?

Hope this is not an odd question. Seems a large majority of German military men while in uniform cocked (canted) their cloth headgear to the right or wore vertical/straight up in portrait photos.

A minority canted headgear to the left which is what I would do were I wearing similar headgear. I am left-handed. Is it that simple?

Good question, I would cant to the right. Maybe it is right vs left handed or maybe it is like parting your hair, whichever way you like.

I read somewhere that as the National Socialists were a "rightist" and Communist were "leftist" organisation - NSDAP headgear was to be canted to the right.
