There are some nice stamps inside the leather sweatband....

A nice early Gendarmerie visor. I believe this is a visor for a Senior NCO (Meister) rank. The eagle is for a NCO and it gives his rank as a Meister in the name tag. Unteroffizier mit Portepee could wear Officer cap cords on their visors.

it's my old cap I sold some years ago from a small Gendarmerie Meinster convolute. I got it out of the family here at Stuttgart the two caps, his coat, some boards tabs, his saddel, pants etc.
His tunic and all papers was missing.
I sold over the years everything up to his second cap, coat and boards.

Hope the cap has a nice new home.

        Cheers,
